Facility Grounds Worker

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the EHS Coordinator, the Facility Grounds Worker supports the EHS team by executing essential repair and upkeep tasks in alignment with safety, quality, and operational standards. This role is responsible for self-managing daily groundskeeping and structural maintenance duties, utilizing a variety of hand tools, power equipment, and company vehicles with minimal direct supervision. By proactively identifying repair needs, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and accurately tracking task completion, the Facility Grounds Worker ensures consistent facility flow and site safety while contributing to the overall efficiency of the production environment.

KEY RESPONSABILITIES:

• Execute general repairs on buildings and physical structures to ensure facility integrity.
• Support sanitation efforts by cleaning buildings and industrial machinery.
• Troubleshoot facility issues by identifying, reporting, and resolving maintenance needs.
• Utilize specialized equipment, including powered cleaning tools and forklifts, in a safe and efficient manner.
• Manage logistics for parts and materials using company vehicles for pickups and deliveries.
• Collaborate with Maintenance Technicians and provide cross-functional support to production teams.
• Perform industrial painting on electrical components and related infrastructure.
• Assemble site safety and access structures, including barricades, scaffolds, hoists, and rigging.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must have the ability to stand and walk for the duration of their shift, navigating both the manufacturing floor and exterior facility grounds independently. This role requires frequent manual dexterity to operate powered equipment, handle hardware, and perform repairs, along with the capability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.

Candidates must possess strong visual focus to identify structural wear, safety hazards, and defects in facility surfaces or electrical components. Additionally, the employee must be a self-motivated professional capable of communicating clearly with the team and Production Supervisor in a loud environment while completing tasks with minimal direct supervision. Consistency in wearing all required PPE, including steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and hearing protection, is required throughout the shift.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

Working in this role involves navigating both a high-volume manufacturing facility and its surrounding exterior grounds with minimal direct supervision. You will be regularly exposed to industrial noise, mechanical equipment, and varying environmental conditions, including airborne dust and finishing agents. The position requires the independence to safely maneuver through active production areas featuring moving machinery and heavy materials. Because you will be expected to manage your tasks autonomously, a strict and self-disciplined commitment to safety is essential, including the consistent use of all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hearing protection, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots throughout the shift.
