As the Manager of Nursing for Labor & Delivery, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for a high-performing team dedicated to bringing new life into the world. This role is responsible for driving exceptional patient outcomes, staff engagement, and operational excellence across a 24/7 unit, ensuring care is safe, compassionate, and aligned with regulatory standards and organizational goals.
You’ll serve as both a clinical leader and culture builder, empowering your team to deliver evidence-based, family-centered care during some of life’s most meaningful moments.
What You’ll Do
Lead & Inspire
- Champion a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Serve as a change agent, guiding teams through growth, innovation, and transformation
- Inspire a shared vision that aligns with organizational mission and values
Operational Excellence
- Oversee 24-hour operations of Labor & Delivery, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective care
- Develop, manage, and monitor departmental budgets and performance metrics
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards (TJC, CARF, etc.)
Build & Develop Teams
- Recruit, hire, coach, and develop a high-performing nursing team
- Foster professional growth through mentorship, education, and performance management
- Create an environment grounded in psychological safety, learning, and empowerment
Patient-Centered Care
- Ensure delivery of evidence-based, safe, and compassionate care across all patient populations
- Support a family-centered approach for mothers, newborns, and support systems
- Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and patient experience
Collaborate & Influence
- Partner with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and community stakeholders
- Strengthen relationships that enhance patient care and organizational outcomes
- Contribute to strategic initiatives and service line growth

Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Master’s Degree preferred or in progress upon hire
- Strong command of English (reading, writing, speaking)
Experience
- Prior leadership or management experience in nursing
- Experience in Labor & Delivery or Women’s Services strongly preferred
Licensure & Certifications
- Active or ability to obtain Nevada Registered Nurse (RN) license upon hire
- Current BLS certification required
- Professional certification (e.g., RNC-OB, NE-BC) preferred
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong clinical judgment and commitment to evidence-based practice
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage operations, and drive outcomes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and healthcare systems/EMRs
