Addictions Counselor Position for Reno Alcohol & Drug Services:
We are seeking a Licensed Addiction Counselor/Licensed Master Addiction Counselor/Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor with a solid understanding of Substance Use Disorder and co-occurring issues and services to join our team! The duties of an addictions counselor include, providing direct substance use disorder services to clients and maintaining appropriate paperwork/ files. The position will be in an Outpatient setting. The ideal candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills, organization skills, knowledge of basic office equipment operation, and have a minimum of 1-year experience in the field. Prefer counselor with KDOC certification to provide SB123 services or available for training in this area.
Applicants for this position must be licensed, or able to obtain a license, by the Kansas BSRB as LAC, LMAC or LCAC.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Interviews client, reviews records, and confers with other professionals to evaluate condition of patient.
- Formulates a treatment plan for treatment and rehabilitation of client.
- Counsels clients individually and in group sessions to assist client in overcoming alcohol and drug dependency.
- Participates in utilization review activities as required.
- Maintains paperwork and files in a site visit ready manner.
- Develops discharge/transition plans and completes discharge summaries.
- Refers client to other support services when needed.
- Monitors condition of client to evaluate success of therapy, and adapts treatment as needed.
- Conducts evaluations and develops evaluation summaries to determine appropriate need and level of treatment

Experience:
- Prior Addictions Counseling: 1 year (Preferred)
License:
