We've partnered with a well-established electrical contractor in the Southeast Los Angeles area to find an Estimator for their Renewables Preconstruction Team. If you're someone who can own an estimate from RFP to submission, knows your way around utility-scale solar and BESS, and takes pride in accuracy and delivery, this role is worth a look.
Responsibilities
- Perform accurate quantity take-offs for a diverse range of EPC solar and BESS construction projects
- Request, obtain, and review quotations from vendors and subcontractors for materials and performance tasks
- Analyze and interpret construction drawings and specifications across all trades, including electrical, civil, mechanical, structural, and architectural
- Prepare pre-bid RFIs and track and document responses
- Attend pre- and post-bid meetings and interviews with clients
- Provide bid review details to the Director of Preconstruction prior to sending to the client
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in utility-scale solar and BESS
- Familiarity with Accubid, Livecount, and Bluebeam preferred
- Extensive knowledge of the NEC and other building codes as they relate to Utility Scale EPC
- Detailed knowledge of estimating fundamentals, including Fixed Price, T&M, Cost Plus, and Unit pricing
- Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering, or a related field preferred - equivalent field experience considered
Plus:
- Background as a field electrician or journeyman with hands-on electrical construction experience
- Experience performing conceptual solar and BESS EPC estimates
- Ability to review contracts in detail to confirm scope and price are aligned with the estimate proposal
