Qualifications
1. Graduate of an accredited university with a B.S., MA, or M.S. or doctorate in Physical,
Occupational or Speech Therapy
2. Holds current license and/or registration in the state (as applicable)
3. Has at least 5 years of clinical experience
4. Management and/or supervisory experienced preferred
Job Responsibilities
1. Operations
a) Monitor staff productivity and set expectations for subordinates.
b) Monitor facility profit margins and prioritize action plans for focus buildings.
c) Monitor payer statistics/accuracy.
d) Monitor staff’s working and overtime hours.
e) Monitor staff’s travel time.
f) Ensure accuracy of patient billing/perform billing audits.
g) Ensure accuracy of ICD 10 and CPT codes being utilized by staff.
2. Management
a) Ensure that the mission and organizational goals are being carried out/met by staff.
b) Monitor staff’s credentials and personnel records.
c) Act as a liaison for facility administration and nursing management
d) Assists facilities in clinical, financial, compliance and training activities.
3. Clinical
a) Responsible for promoting new program development and implementation.
b) Assist in recruiting new staff and performing interviews.
c) Orient and train new staff.
d) Monitor student contracts and activities.
e) Attend clinical development meetings when indicated.
f) Ensure scope of practice for all disciplines is met.
g) Monitor the rehab department’s hours of operation.
h) Develop new policies and procedures when indicated.
i) Train supervisors/staff in screening, evaluation, treatment, and documentation procedures
as needed.
j) Perform on-site visits to facilities on a regular basis.
k) Provide staff in-service training as indicated.
l) Treat patients when necessary
4. Supervision
a) Mentor staff
b) Perform competency evaluations.
c) Monitor and review staff performance and set performance goals for the coming year.
d) Recommend payroll raise as indicated.
e) Supervise and train rehab supervisors.
f) Implement disciplinary and termination procedures when indicated.
g) Approve vacation, personal, holiday and continuing education requests.
h) Communicate policies, procedures, updates to staff.
5. Compliance
a) Audit patient charts, billing, and documentation
b) Ensure staff abides by the Code of Ethics
c) Conduct facility CQI audits
d) Ensure compliance of all staff with adherence with State Practice Acts
e) Ensure staff’s compliance to all policies and procedures.
f) Assist facility with preparation for state, JCAHO or OSHA survey
6. Miscellaneous
a) Assist with facility marketing efforts as appropriate.
b) Engage in Customer Service and Relation activities as needed.
c) Assist with denials management as indicated.
