What You’ll Do
As a CNC Programmer, you’ll play a critical role in sheet metal fabrication—bringing new parts, prototypes, and production components to life. You’ll collaborate across Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Engineering while supporting work at both our Waunakee and Dane locations to ensure quality, efficiency, and manufacturability in every program you build.
Key Responsibilities

Develop, modify, update, and document CNC programs for new and existing parts, including prototypes.

Perform daily sheet nesting and partner with Fabrication Technicians to test and troubleshoot programs prior to release.

Maintain accurate part programs by working closely with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Design Engineering to reflect the latest revisions.

Support documentation, SOP development, and training related to programming software and fabrication equipment.

Evaluate manufacturability, cycle time, and production cost implications for new designs or changes.

Ensure smooth workflow and communication between fabrication, programming, and scheduling teams across both facilities.

Adapt to shifting priorities, including rework, quick-turn jobs, and urgent prototype needs.

Qualifications

Associate degree or equivalent experience.

2 years of CNC programming experience (fabrication preferred).

1 year manufacturing experience strongly desired.

Experience with SolidWorks and/or CAD/CAM software.

Strong mechanical aptitude, blueprint reading, and measurement skills.

Proficiency with MS Office and general computer skills.

Experience with metal manufacturing processes and CNC fabrication equipment (Salvagnini, Trumpf, Amada, or similar highly desirable).

Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently, prioritize, and adapt to changing demands.

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and perform essential physical functions.
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check; reliable transportation required to move between Waunakee and Dane locations as needed.

Work Environment
