We are seeking a driven, high-performing Cabinet Builder / Carpenter to anchor our initial Springfield, VA warehouse team, specializing in Cabinet Restoration! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for restoring water or fire damaged cabinets by leading in-shop fabrication and assembly of cabinets and cabinet components. You'll be responsible for ensuring that every product is built on time and meets exact specifications and quality standards. You will also assist the field operations teams when necessary to assist with cabinet installations and removals. Your expertise in woodworking and cabinet making will contribute to transforming spaces and revitalizing water or fire damaged cabinets with precision and care. Responsibilities
- Precision Fabrication: Fabricate, cut, and assemble high-quality cabinet boxes, doors, face frames, and architectural trim components from blueprints and cut lists.
- Machinery Operation: Safely set up, operate, and maintain advanced shop equipment, including CNC router, edge bander, table saws, dust collection system, and various power tools.
- Quality Control Authority: Perform meticulous quality checks on all completed builds, officially signing off on all completed builds before passing projects to the finishing team.
- Inventory Management: Oversee the shop floor's lumber, sheet goods, hardware, and raw material inventory. Proactively source and place material orders for approved builds.
- Shop Maintenance: Maintain dust collection systems and implement daily shop safety, organization, and cleanliness protocols.
- Field Team Support: Assist with on-site field installations, emergency cabinet removals, or structural bracing as needed.
- Supervision & Initiative: Support overall shop supervision and workflow efficiency. Identify and resolve issues that arise; be solutions-oriented
Qualifications and Requirements
- Experience: 5 years of professional experience in structural cabinet building, custom woodworking, or high-end architectural carpentry. Strong understanding of cabinet construction methods and materials
- Technical Blueprint Literacy: Deep understanding of modern cabinet construction methods. Ability to accurately read measurements, plans, and technical drawings.
- Safety: Ability to safely operate and maintain shop machinery (CNC routers, saws, edge banders, jigs). Consistent adherence to job site and shop safety protocols, including proper use of tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE) while maintaining a safe working environment for self and others
- Tool & Automation Mastery: Hands-on experience operating shop machinery safely. Familiarity with CNC router operation and automated edge banders is highly preferred.
- Operational Ownership: Strong organizational skills with a history of managing material inventory and coordinating shop workflows independently. Ability to work efficiently in a production-focused shop environment
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry heavy sheet goods and cabinetry (up to 75 lbs), stand for long periods, and maintain strict adherence to shop safety protocols, including use of PPE.
- Quality: Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship in all restoration tasks.
