Renaissance is supporting the search for an (Aircraft) Engine Shop Manager to join an established aviation technical services organisation supporting airlines, lessors, MROs and aviation asset owners globally.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing day-to-day engine shop operations, ensuring high-quality, efficient and compliant delivery across engine teardown, inspection, repair and module build activities.
This role sits at the core of the operation, leading shop floor activity while driving:
- On-time delivery and turnaround performance (TAT)
- Technical quality and compliance standards
- Team capability and development
You will work closely with engineering, quality and planning teams to ensure efficient workflow and consistent execution across all engine maintenance activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Shop Floor Leadership
- Lead daily aircraft engine shop operations including teardown, inspection, repair, module build and assembly
- Supervise technicians and inspectors to ensure safe and efficient execution of work
- Coordinate with planning teams to meet delivery schedules and production targets
- Prioritise work to maximise throughput and reduce operational bottlenecks
Technical Oversight
- Provide hands-on technical guidance across engine build standards, troubleshooting and repair decisions
- Support resolution of technical issues, rework and non-conformities
- Work closely with engineering and quality teams on repair approvals and technical deviations
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with FAA Part 145, OEM and internal quality standards
- Maintain strong adherence to SOPs, approved data and documentation requirements
- Support audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of mechanics and inspectors
- Support hiring, onboarding and training of new technical staff
- Drive a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement
Performance & Reporting
- Monitor key KPIs including TAT, rework, productivity and quality performance
- Track shop progress and provide regular updates to leadership
- Support resource planning including manpower, tooling and materials
CANDIDATE PROFILE:
We are seeking professionals with:
- 5 years' experience within aircraft engine MRO or technical services environments
- Strong hands-on experience with commercial turbofan engines (CFM56, V2500, PW or similar)
- Proven leadership experience on an aircraft shop floor (Lead Mechanic, Supervisor, Shop Manager)
- Strong understanding of FAA Part 145 requirements and approved technical data
- Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
