Job Description:
We are seeking (must be local to the area) an experienced Capital Projects Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of facility and equipment-related capital projects supporting MedTech/pharma manufacturing operations. This role will manage multiple projects ranging up to $20 million in value within a cGMP-regulated environment. The Capital Project Manager will serve as a key liaison between internal stakeholders (including Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Facilities) and external vendors, contractors, and consultants to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with applicable regulatory standards. This position requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, along with a deep understanding of project controls, construction execution, and pharmaceutical industry standards.
Required Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- Lead cross-functional capital projects from concept through closeout, ensuring alignment with business goals and compliance with cGMP and safety standards.
- Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, procurement plans, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Oversee procurement and installation of process equipment, utilities, and building systems to support R&D or manufacturing operations.
- Facilitate effective communication between internal departments and external partners (e.g., engineering firms, equipment vendors, construction contractors).
- Prepare project documentation including meeting minutes, action logs, project status reports, and cash flow forecasts.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory, environmental, health, and safety requirements (OSHA, EPA, FDA, etc.).
- Support commissioning, qualification, and validation (CQV) activities as required
- Proven track record managing capital projects in pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical manufacturing, with experience in a cGMP-compliant environment.
- Strong project management skills, including experience with project planning tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and proficiency in creating and managing schedules, budgets, and project documentation.
- Solid understanding of regulatory compliance standards (GMP, OSHA, environmental regulations) related to facilities and engineering in the life sciences sector.
- Demonstrated ability to manage vendor selection, contracts, and performance, including RFP processes and coordination with procurement teams.
- Financial acumen related to capital planning, cost control, and forecasting (e.g., tracking purchase orders, invoices, and cash flows).
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and written communication skills.
