Activities Director

We are seeking a compassionate and creative Activity Director to join our team! In this role, you will design, coordinate, and lead engaging recreational programs that enhance the quality of life for our residents. You’ll collaborate with staff, families, and the community to create meaningful experiences that support residents’ social, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized and group activity programs based on resident needs and interests.
• Conduct resident assessments and contribute to care planning.
• Create and manage a monthly activity calendar in compliance with regulations.
• Maintain accurate documentation, participation records, and progress notes.
• Coordinate community outings, holiday events, and special celebrations.
• Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers and activity staff.
• Facilitate resident council meetings and encourage engagement.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance overall resident care.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in recreational programming, including at least 1 year full-time in a healthcare setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent (additional education preferred)
• Completion of a 36-hour Activity Director course or certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist – preferred, not required
• Valid Illinois driver’s license

• Passion for working with seniors and individuals with disabilities.
• Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Ability to motivate and engage residents and staff.
• Schedule: Monday through Friday – some flexibility in schedule, to participate in the holiday celebrations throughout the year.
