Position Overview
A growing provider of healthcare and diagnostic technology solutions is seeking a hands-on Field Service Technician to support the repair, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of medical and electronic equipment. This role combines both in-house service work and customer-facing field support, requiring strong technical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
The ideal candidate will enjoy working independently, traveling to customer sites, and resolving technical issues in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of medical and electronic equipment.
- Travel to customer locations to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
- Assemble, disassemble, test, and verify equipment performance.
- Maintain accurate service records, repair documentation, and inventory logs.
- Coordinate service appointments and communicate repair status with customers.
- Process returned equipment and manage shipping/receiving activities related to repairs.
- Prepare repair quotations and assist with service-related administrative activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve technical and customer support issues.
- Ensure compliance with company quality and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- 1 years of experience in equipment repair, field service, electronics, biomedical equipment, or a related technical field.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and follow technical documentation and service procedures.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Valid passport or ability to obtain one preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience servicing medical devices, laboratory equipment, diagnostic instruments, or other electromechanical systems.
- Familiarity with CRM, ticketing, or service management systems.
- Experience working directly with customers in a field service environment.
