Position: Assistant Controller
Location: Lansdale, PA
Compensation: $115K-$125K DOE Generous Bonus and Benefits
The Assistant Controller supports financial leadership by overseeing accounting operations and ensuring accurate, compliant and timely financial reporting. This role is responsible for maintaining strong accounting controls, preparing monthly financial statements, managing tax and regulatory compliance, supporting cash management and supervising accounting functions across multiple entities. The position also leads special financial initiatives and provides analytical insight to guide business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Supevise accounting staff, monitor performance, and provide coaching and development
- Oversee general ledger activities including journal entries and monthly close process
- Prepare monthly financial statements with supporting schedules, reconciliations and variance analysis
- Perform and review balance sheet and bank reconciliations
- Maintain and enforce internal controls to ensure accuracy, compliance, and risk mitigation
- Record and reconcile fixed assets including acquisitions and sales of company owned properties
- Process and oversee local, state, and gross receipts tax filings throughout the year
- Support payroll accounting and 401k accounting activities
- Manage cash flow, bank balances, and cash requirements
- Provide financial performance updates and analysis to senior finance leadership
- Prepare financial reporting for non-operating entities
- Handle intercompany transactions across multiple legal entities
- Coordinate US Census reporting for all entities
- Assist with multi-state tax registration and deregistration and determine final tax filing requirements
- Collaborate with legal, operations, and other departments on financial and regulatory matters
- Support budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, and internal audit activities
- Lead special financial projects assigned by senior leadership
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting and tax requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related required
- CPA, CPA track and/or Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum 5-7 years progressive accounting experience with increasing responsibility
- Minimum two years of recent experience at Supervisory level responsibilities
- Demonstrated leadership ability with experience training and motivating staff
- Strong general accounting including GL, account reconciliations and financial reporting skills
- Highly proficient in managing multiple entity budgets and intercompany transactions
- Strong knowledge of local, state, multi-state and federal tax compliance and regulatory reporting
- Experience with payroll accounting, retirement plan accounting, and cash management
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem solving skills
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting ERP systems required with Acumatica proficiency a plus
Salary : $114,999 - $125,002
