Senior Accountant

Position Overview
A well-established public accounting firm is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to manage a portfolio of small business and HOA/property management clients. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who thrives in a multi-client environment and is comfortable handling accounting, payroll, and tax-related responsibilities from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage an assigned portfolio of clients, including small businesses and HOA/property management accounts
- Perform weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting functions
- Prepare and process payroll, including payroll tax filings and year-end forms (W-2s, 1099s)
- Prepare and file monthly and quarterly indirect tax returns (sales tax, lodging tax, restaurant tax, and similar filings)
- Prepare basic federal and state income tax returns, including Forms 1040 and 1120/1120S
- Complete annual reports, business tax filings, and license renewals
- Process accounts payable and perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts; prepare and post adjusting journal entries
- Manage HOA financials using QuickBooks Online, including dues tracking and client invoicing
- Assist with HOA-specific reporting, budgeting, and year-end financial statements
- Prepare accurate financial statements and customized client reports
- Stay current on payroll regulations and federal, state, and local tax law changes
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 3 years of experience in public accounting, a CPA firm, or a multi-client bookkeeping environment
- Hands-on experience preparing individual and business tax returns (1040, 1120/1120S)
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and tax compliance
- Excellent organizational and time management skills in a deadline-driven environment
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional client-facing presence
