Packaging Development Manager

My client, a leading supplier of table linens, kitchen textiles and other home products to retailers throughout North America and internationally, through its wholesale and eCommerce channels is seeking a Packaging Development Manager to join their team.

The successful candidate will have the ability to thrive in a deadline driven environment, be detailed oriented and a self-starter with a proven track record of a minimum 3-5 year experience managing full lifecycle of creative projects, photography projects, packaging costing and production for direct import and warehouse orders for Walmart.

Duties: Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

• Manage packaging process and communicates with key stakeholders throughout the development, design, to launch process.
• Manage and monitor project progress to ensure projects meet scope, timeline, budget, and quality goals. Works with overseas factories to establish milestone dates.
• Prepares critical documentation to begin package development and track progress to ensure critical deadlines are met.
• Contact suppliers, customer, and agents/factories to collect and gather all necessary package and product specifications, printing information, limitations, etc.
• Attending product development meetings with both internal and external teams.
• Handles the creation and maintenance of packaging technical specification sheets into PLM system.
• Communicate in a timely manner the status of each project.

Requirements

Qualifications: Experience, Competencies, and Education:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a packaging design, marketing, project management or business discipline.
• Expert on packaging materialand spec, and able to effectively negotiate and manage packaging cost.
• Proven track record of successfully managing projects. Must possess strong project management skills with experience overseeing and following through on processes and projects.
• Able to manage multipleprojects simultaneously, prioritize, think quickly and meet tight deadlines
• Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
• Basic knowledge of graphic designpractices and processes, preferably for packaging.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,including ability to collaborate with individuals from many areas and disciplines within the organization
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and, PowerPoint. Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite & Photoshop
• Knowledge of Home Furnishing & Textile Industry a plus
