Position Overview
We are looking for an organized and proactive HR Coordinator to support our growing team on a 1099 contractor basis. This role will be instrumental in managing contractor onboarding, HR records, payroll coordination, and compliance — with the opportunity to grow into a permanent W-2 position as the company scales.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate onboarding for new employees and independent contractors, including document collection and system setup
- Maintain and update contractor agreements, W-9s, and compliance documents
- Support accurate tracking of hours and allocations in Paycom
- Assist with payroll processing and timesheet reconciliation
- Maintain organized personnel and contractor files in compliance with federal and Texas state regulations
- Post job openings, coordinate interview scheduling, and maintain applicant tracking records
- Support benefits administration and open enrollment coordination
- Respond to routine HR inquiries from contractors and staff
- Assist with drafting and updating HR policies and internal communications
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 0–2 years of HR or administrative experience (internships count)
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms; experience with Paycom is a strong plus
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Comfortable working independently in a remote or hybrid environment
Compensation & Growth
- $28–$35/hour (1099 Independent Contractor), commensurate with experience
- This position has the potential to convert to a full-time W-2 role as the organization grows
Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Houston, TX (Harris County)
