Role Description
This is a full-time role for a Staff Accountant located in Cranford, New Jersey. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for preparing and maintaining financial statements, reconciling accounts, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The role also includes assisting in client reporting, performing fund accounting, handling audits, and coordinating with internal teams to meet client objectives and deadlines. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment are essential.
Qualifications
- Proficiency with accounting fundamentals such as General Ledger reconciliation, journal entries, and financial reporting
- Experience with fund administration and investor reporting processes for Private Equity or Venture Capital funds
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in accounting software and tools relevant to fund accounting
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for internal collaboration and client management
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is preferred
- 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in fund administration or public accounting
