The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for leading all operational activities related to mobile power generation projects, including deployment, maintenance, logistics, safety, personnel management, and customer support. This role ensures maximum fleet availability, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction across multiple project sites.

The ideal candidate has strong leadership experience in power generation operations, including gas turbines, diesel generators, natural gas engines, microgrids, or temporary/mobile power systems.
Responsibilities
- Operations Leadership
- Oversee daily operations of mobile power generation assets across multiple locations
- Ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of power generation equipment
- Coordinate mobilization and demobilization of equipment and personnel
- Monitor fleet performance, uptime, fuel efficiency, and operational KPIs
- Develop operational strategies to improve reliability and reduce downtime
- Work closely with maintenance and fleet teams to ensure equipment readiness
- Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs
- Coordinate major outages, overhauls, and emergency repairs
- Ensure compliance with OEM maintenance standards and operating procedures
- Lead operations supervisors, site managers, technicians, and support staff
- Support hiring, onboarding, training, and employee development
- Establish accountability and performance expectations
- Promote a strong culture of safety, teamwork, and operational excellence
- Serve as primary operational contact for customers and project stakeholders
- Support contract execution and operational deliverables
- Assist business development with operational planning and technical support
- Ensure customer issues are resolved quickly and professionally
- Manage operational budgets and labor utilization
- Monitor project profitability and operational costs
- Support forecasting, scheduling, and resource planning
- Identify opportunities for operational improvements and cost savings
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or related field preferred
- 10 years of experience in power generation or heavy industrial operations
Experience with:
- Gas turbines
- Diesel generators
- Natural gas reciprocating engines
- Mobile or temporary power generation systems
- Strong leadership and multi-site management experience
- Knowledge of power generation safety and regulatory requirements
- Ability to travel to project locations - up to 50%
