Responsibilities- Review and interpret RFP/RFQ documents and support the Request for Information (RFI) process.
- Identify project risks and challenges during the solutioning phase.
- Assist in preparing rough order of magnitude and formal cost estimates for potential projects.
- Contribute to the development of project proposals.
- Maintain an organized database of bid documents for reference upon contract award.
- Identify additional revenue opportunities where applicable.
- Coordinate with internal teams including sales, engineering, preconstruction, execution, and finance.
- Solicit and collect quotes from subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
- Review and assess cost estimates for accuracy and completeness.
- Research proposals, blueprints, and related documents to determine labor, material, cost, and time requirements.
- Prepare and present detailed cost estimate reports to management.
- Conduct site visits and document findings for internal distribution.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in construction estimating, with specific knowledge of mission critical systems.
- At least 2 years of data center experience, including batteries, UPS replacements, and general maintenance in mission critical environments.
- Experience in electrical, mechanical, or communications/low voltage estimating is a plus.
- Proficiency in developing high-level construction schedules using tools such as P6 and MS Project Scheduler.
- Ability to interpret contract terms, conditions, and exhibits relevant to project requirements.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and justifying budgets.
- Ability to create and maintain project documentation processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with On Screen Take Off, Bluebeam, BuildingConnected, Accubid (Trimble), or RS Means is preferred.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 5% within the VA, DC, and MD area.
