Overview of the position
Reliance Student Transportation, a locally owned employee-focused employer based in York, PA is seeking a fulltime Terminal Manager responsible for overseeing all operations and maintenance of its York Suburban Terminal.
Our ideal candidate would be an experienced school bus operations manager with strong leadership qualities to be the face of the company for our customer and staff. This position offers a competitive annual salary with full benefits plus a year-end performance bonus.
In addition, this position requires high enthusiasm and positive ongoing communication to keep our drivers motivated and company morale strong, while ensuring schedules are kept, safety is enforced, and quality customer service is provided.
Duties and responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the facility including, but not limited to, frequent interaction with district administrators, drivers, parents, and general public.
- Maintain scheduling, safety, maintenance, customer service standards.
- Culturally motivate and support a team of over 50 drivers and full-time staff members.
- Monitor terminal expenditures.
- Work with the clients and parents to resolve issues as they arise.
- Function as a substitute driver.
- Work with various software systems.
Required skills and experience
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and obtain a clean child abuse record check.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment and physical and drug screen.
- Clean driving record.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- CDL Class B with S & P Endorsements is required within 60 days of hire.
- Microsoft Office knowledge (Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong organizational, fact-based problem-solving and customer service skills.
- Detail-oriented, accurate and conscientious and able to work well within the team.
- Proven ability to make sound decisions on a regular basis and know when to bring issues, questions and problems to their supervisor.
- Strong verbal and written skills with the ability to effectively document your work.
- Ability to interact directly with clients of all knowledge levels, and at any level of their organization.
Preferred skills and experiences
- College degree in a business major.
- At least 2 years of Dispatch/Supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of local school district is preferred but is not mandatory.
Work environment
· Work Hours: Monday through Friday 5:30am until 5:00pm, during the school year. Four-day workweek during summer break (Fridays off).
· Lifting and moving products/boxes up to 50 pounds.
· Standing, sitting and walking throughout building and outside bus parking lot.
· Driving school bus and van.
