This role is ideal for an accounting professional with fixed asset experience who enjoys working cross-functionally with finance, procurement, operations, and leadership teams to ensure accurate asset management and compliance with accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the organization's fixed asset accounting processes and procedures
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register
- Record and monitor asset acquisitions, transfers, disposals, and capitalization activities
- Perform depreciation calculations and asset valuations
- Support quarterly and annual asset confirmation activities
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, financial reporting, and variance analysis
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company capitalization policies
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities related to capital expenditures
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure accurate asset tracking and documentation
- Assist with internal and external audits related to fixed assets
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to asset records and reporting
- Support lease accounting activities and leased asset management
- Develop and implement process improvements related to fixed asset management systems
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
- 3 years of accounting experience
- 1 year of fixed asset accounting experience
- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- SAP ERP experience
- CPA designation or public accounting experience
- Lease accounting experience (ASC 842)
- Understanding of the automotive industry
