Surface Finishing Masking Operations Supervisor

It is 6:00am in Springfield and your masking team gathers for a quick standup. You set the production plan, review schematic drawings and masking instructions, and align with plating and quality on priorities. Throughout the day, you coach a crew of 10-12 maskers, verify that sensitive surfaces are protected per specifications, and ensure throughput goals are achieved without compromising safety or quality. This full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity places you at the center of a precision metal finishing operation.What you will leadDaily oversight of masking activities, coordinating closely with plating, production, and QA to meet output and quality targets.Hands-on guidance using schematic drawings, masking instructions, and specifications to determine protected areas.Selection and proper use of fixtures, tapes, wax, and other materials to prepare parts for plating.Safe handling of cleaning solvents and chemicals related to waxing, de-waxing, painting masks with various paints/thinners/solvents, and removing residue as needed.Clear communication across departments and effective coaching to motivate and develop the team.What you bringProven supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably guiding a team of approximately 10-12 employees.Previous plating and masking background with the ability to interpret drawings and written specifications.Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions.Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs, perform detailed, repetitive hand work, and maintain strong hand and wrist strength.Comfort working in hot/humid environments and around chemical odors; must not be allergic or sensitive to chemicals.Schedule and compensationSchedule: 1st shift: 6:00am - 4:30pm Monday through Friday and alternating Saturdays from 6:00am - 11:00 based on production needs.Pay: $25-30/hr based on experienceProficienciesQuality Inspection ExperienceLeadership / People ManagementExperience in a Manufacturing EnvironmentComplianceMust be able to read, write and speak English and must pass a FAA drug screen.
