Position Summary:
The Installation Apprentice assists an Installation Technician with various types of appliance and plumbing fixture installations in residential homes. This may include dishwashers, ovens, over-the-range microwaves, stove and cooktops and water heaters, depending on the level of experience and comfort of the Lead Technician. The Apprentice will have opportunities to learn and develop life-skills in time management, organization and basic maintenance using trim plumbing and electrical skills.
Key Functions:
- Responsible for assisting in the delivery and installation of residential appliances and fixtures, such as Dishwashers, Ovens, Microwaves, Cooktops, Ranges, Faucets, Water Heaters, etc. to the customer’s satisfaction.
- Learn plumbing and electrical skills from the ground up.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, provide quality work, maintain, and track all equipment, supplies and tools.
- Responsible for daily, local travel to customer sites in provided company vehicle (with Installation Technician).
Criteria for Consideration:
- No previous work experience required. A career interest in MEP (Mechanical, Plumbing and Electrical) is a plus.
- Professional appearance, extreme customer-centric attitude, dependable, willing to work hard and learn.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn the use of iPads and iPhones for in-field updates.
- Dependable and possess a professional appearance and attitude.
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
- Ability to pass national criminal background check and legally able to work in the US without sponsorship.
Physical Demands:
- Requires minimum of eight hours standing, sitting in vehicle, bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling with a full range of body mechanics/movements.
- Requires lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work in an environment requiring use of ladder, stairs, heights, platforms, attics, crawl spaces and climbing in and out of trucks or vans in tight spaces. Must have ability to operate a variety of power and hand tools safely.
