We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Woodworking Finisher to join our dynamic team. Duties
- Prepare wood surfaces by sanding, stripping, and cleaning to ensure optimal finish application.
- Apply stains, paints, varnishes, lacquers, or sealants with precision using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Inspect finished products for consistency in color, texture, and overall quality; make necessary touch-ups or adjustments.
- Follow detailed schematics and blueprints to accurately match colors and finishes according to project specifications.
- Collaborate with carpenters and fabricators during the finishing process to ensure seamless integration of wood components.
- Maintain a clean work environment by properly storing tools and disposing of waste materials regularly.
- Adhere to safety protocols when handling power tools, hand tools, and chemical finishes on construction sites or manufacturing facilities.
Skills
- Extensive experience with woodworking finishing techniques including staining, sealing, and painting.
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as sanders, brushes, scrapers, and caulking guns; familiarity with power tools like spray guns and orbital sanders.
- Knowledge of construction estimating principles related to finishing projects; understanding of trim carpentry and cabinetry installation is a plus.
- Strong understanding of various construction processes including framing, drywall finishing (plastering), metal stud framing, roofing, siding, and flooring installation.
- Capable of heavy lifting when handling large or heavy wood components; comfortable working at heights or in confined spaces as needed.
