HVAC Installation Apprentice

The HVAC Installation Apprentice is responsible to assist lead installer in the production and quality levels by installing HVAC equipment for residential and light commercial customers.

 Essential Functions

•  Responsible for assisting lead installer in preparing for the day by loading all the equipment for scheduled jobs.
• Maintain company vehicle, ensuring cleanliness and organization, both inside and out.
• Willingness to learn and be teachable
• Actively involved in learning processes in:
• Commercial and residential installation of condensers, coils, furnaces, package and roof top units, mini split systems, thermostats, high efficiency air filters
• Installation and/or design of ducts for ventilation purposes.
• Installation and wiring of High Efficiency systems, zoning, humidifiers, Comfort Guard, and other peripherals.
• Quality control on layout, cleanliness, sealing the system, and overall install details.
• Completion of daily assignments/checklist in residential crawl space and attics. Complete required paperwork including daily time/payroll sheets and submit in a timely manner.
• Available to work occasional Saturdays.
• Participate in all company sponsored training classes.
• Should have EPA certification within the first year of apprenticeship.
• Work in and maintain a safe working environment.

  Qualifications

•  0-2 years experience in the HVAC industry as an installation apprentice. 
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
• Technical and mechanical competence. 
• Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of job.
• Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.
• Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises.
• Valid Driver's license and a clean driving record preferred. Ability to pass a drug screen and pre-employment background check.
