What are the responsibilities and job description for the HVAC Installation Apprentice position at Reliable Heating & Air?
The HVAC Installation Apprentice is responsible to assist lead installer in the production and quality levels by installing HVAC equipment for residential and light commercial customers.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for assisting lead installer in preparing for the day by loading all the equipment for scheduled jobs.
- Maintain company vehicle, ensuring cleanliness and organization, both inside and out.
- Willingness to learn and be teachable
- Actively involved in learning processes in:
- Commercial and residential installation of condensers, coils, furnaces, package and roof top units, mini split systems, thermostats, high efficiency air filters
- Installation and/or design of ducts for ventilation purposes.
- Installation and wiring of High Efficiency systems, zoning, humidifiers, Comfort Guard, and other peripherals.
- Quality control on layout, cleanliness, sealing the system, and overall install details.
- Completion of daily assignments/checklist in residential crawl space and attics. Complete required paperwork including daily time/payroll sheets and submit in a timely manner.
- Available to work occasional Saturdays.
- Participate in all company sponsored training classes.
- Should have EPA certification within the first year of apprenticeship.
- Work in and maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications
- 0-2 years experience in the HVAC industry as an installation apprentice.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
- Technical and mechanical competence.
- Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of job.
- Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.
- Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises.
- Valid Driver's license and a clean driving record preferred. Ability to pass a drug screen and pre-employment background check.
