Duties
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with kindness and professionalism
- Support patients with mobility and transfer methods using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer techniques
- Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing changes, and reporting findings accurately in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning, sanitation, and organization of resident spaces
- Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to care plans
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a positive atmosphere that respects their rights and dignity
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to observe patients carefully and recognize changes in condition or behavior
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism is preferred
- Experience with patient monitoring, medication management, first aid, CPR certification, and manual handling techniques is essential
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information
- Ability to assist with ADLs efficiently while maintaining a caring attitude
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and teamwork in a caregiving setting
