Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Yard Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the yard area, ensuring materials are organized and accessible, and supporting various operations within the warehouse. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to operate heavy equipment safely.
Duties
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard area, ensuring materials are stored properly.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers efficiently.
- Operate heavy equipment, including cranes, sky trak and forklifts, in compliance with safety regulations.
- Assist in shipping and receiving processes, verifying incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Follow OSHA guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to build and maintain inventory systems.
- Perform regular inspections of equipment and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Engage in materials handling tasks as required to support warehouse operations.
Skills
- Experience in warehouse operations or similar environments is required.
- Proficient in heavy equipment operation, including sky trak and forklifts.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes is beneficial.
- Understanding of OSHA regulations related to warehouse safety practices.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
