What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistician - Waterfront position at Reliability & Performance Technologies ( R&P )?
R&P is seeking a motivated logistician to provide on-site integrated logistics and warehouse support to our Navy customer in San Diego, CA. Daily tasking includes managing inbound/outbound shipments, warehouse storage and inventory, and material receipts on behalf of the customer.

- Track status of material required to support availabilities, modernization and repairs with local site manager. Frequent interface with build yard, planning yard, outside contractors and NAVSEA Warfare Centers
- Coordinate and Conduct material receipt inspections for Alteration Installation Teams, Naval Surface Warfare Centers, and Shipbuilders
- Arrange for release of material from warehouse to ship in coordination with build yard
- Ensure classified equipment and software is properly received, stored and transported
- Uses available resources such as Haystack, Deckplate, and OneTouch to research parts data pertaining to Hull, Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E) and Combat Systems (CS) material and equipment
- Track Government Furnished Material (GFM)/ Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) shipments and material payback plans
- Plan and develop methods and procedures for implementing Logistics Services tasks, directs and coordinates activities
- Generate reports, schedules, recommendations, plans, performance metrics, and briefs as necessary to assist in the management of ship class logistics program
- Monitor and report on Class Reliability, Maintainability and Availability (RM&A) predictions.
- Conduct Physical Configuration Audits (PCA)
- Evaluate logistics policies, procedures, and plans to identify methods in which to improve the availability of required logistical support
- Bachelor’s degree plus at least 5 years of relevant work experience. Higher degree can be substituted for years of experience or High School diploma with minimum 10 years of relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures in logistical support
- Proficient in full suite of Microsoft Office products and tools
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one
- Ability to work independently and alongside others in a team setting
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with accommodations
- Experience in logistical support of shipboard systems
- Experience working with or for US Navy / NAVSUP or NAVSEA SUPSHIP
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI preferred
