OVERVIEW
Our client, a leading banking institution based in Chicago, is seeking a Senior Project Manager which leads assigned projects from initiation to implementation, ensuring the achievement of desired business results. Manages project scope, schedule, budget, and quality to deliver successful outcomes, while mitigating risks. Acts as a trusted advisor, facilitating communication among stakeholders, and overseeing cross-functional teams, including internal and external resources andto drive project success.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead project from initiation through delivery, ensuring all objectives are met on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements and objectives.
- Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Communicate project status, issues, and risks to sponsors and stakeholders effectively.
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement and socialization of change management plans.
- Manage project dependencies, effectively resolve issues, and adjust plans as needed.
- Ensure all project artifacts and documentation are completed per enterprise standards.
- Drive the execution of change management initiatives to maximize adoption and benefit realization.
- Negotiate complex contracts with external vendors to secure resources and services.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to project team members and stakeholders.
- Monitor financial forecasts, manage project budgets, and conduct ongoing reconciliation.
- Act as the primary point of contact for project governance forums and steering committees.
- Ensure compliance with risk, regulatory, and internal controls throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead and coordinate complex initiatives involving multiple business units, with accountability for projects with a large team.
- Develop and deliver regular reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership review.
- Apply industry best practices and methodologies to ensure project delivery excellence.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 6 to 8 years of project management experience.
- College or university degree with relevant experience in business, preferably within the finance industry.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and approaches.
- Experience managing project and business risks, including interdependencies.
- Strong crisis and issue resolution skills.
- A seasoned professional with relevant education, experience, and industry understanding.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and self-starter attitude.
- Facilitation and negotiation skills.
- Sound judgment and learning agility.
- Expert stakeholder management across all levels, from C-suite to team members.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

- Ability to manage ambiguity and make data-driven decisions.
NICE TO HAVES
- Valid PMP certification from PMI.
- Experience in commercial equipment financing or leading technical transformation initiatives.
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
