Operations Manager

Pay Range: $75,000 – $85,000 per year

We are San Diego’s premier scheduled shuttle service to and from LAX, committed to delivering exceptional travel experiences. As we grow, we’re seeking a dynamic Operations Manager to lead our day-to-day operations and support our drivers and passengers.
Job Purpose
Manage daily business activities, driver oversight, and administrative tasks to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient shuttle operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operational activities and act as shuttle dispatcher.
- Be available on call to address operational issues or drive a shuttle when needed.
- Track shuttle locations, communicate with drivers and passengers, and ensure timely service.
- Hire, screen, and onboard drivers (including background checks, DMV EPN, CPUC compliance, and drug screens).
- Train new drivers and ride along until they are fully capable of safe operation.
- Handle driver issues, conduct performance reviews, document and issue write-ups, and ensure compliance with company standards.
- Handle customer calls, ticket bookings, cancellations, and policy questions.
- Review and approve employee timecards for payroll.
- Manage driver schedules, time-off requests, and monthly passenger/ADA reports to LAX.
- Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs.
- Order and manage office and vehicle supplies.
- Identify process improvements and resolve operational challenges.
- Manage budgets, prepare reports, and support ownership with financial data.
- Maintain excellent customer and employee relations.
- Adapt to changing priorities and take on additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license with passenger and air brake endorsements & clean driving record (required).
- Current DOT medical certificate.
- High school diploma or GED (required); bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience in office management, dispatching, or administrative roles.
- Experience managing staff, including performance reviews and corrective action.
- Excellent communication and people-management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and solve problems proactively.
- Willingness to be on call to support operations.
Working Conditions
- Work occurs both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to moving vehicles, mechanical parts, fumes, odors, or dust.
- Possible exposure to illnesses from traveling passengers.
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 70 lbs occasionally and 50 lbs frequently.
- Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
- Ability to push, pull, grasp, hear, talk, and perform repetitive motions.
Direct Reports
- Shuttle Drivers (7–10 drivers anticipated).
