What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Vice President, Clean Path position at Related?
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic construction executive to lead the delivery of our transformational $11 billion clean energy infrastructure project. This position will report to the EVP/ Head of Construction and will be based out of our headquarters in Hudson Yards. Responsibilities include:
- Serve as the senior construction leader on the project, ensuring the successful delivery of all components on time, on budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Oversee project planning and execution, including high-voltage transmission lines, substations, medium-voltage infrastructure, and civil site work.
- Lead strategy and execution across project delivery, including procurement, schedule development, contract management, change management, and field execution.
- Partner with development, engineering, legal, and procurement teams to align permitting, commercial, and design milestones with construction planning and execution.
- Manage risk across complex scopes including ROW acquisition, utility coordination, EPC partnerships, and multi-agency approvals.
- Establish and enforce rigorous safety, quality, and productivity benchmarks across all job sites.
- Oversee direct reports and subcontractors in the field, setting performance expectations and ensuring effective team coordination across geographically dispersed project segments.
- Serve as a key representative with major partners, regulators, utility stakeholders, and senior leadership to communicate construction strategy and progress.
- Implement and continuously improve construction delivery processes, including reporting systems, dashboards, and financial controls.
- Ensure that project commissioning and turnover is strategically planned and executed in coordination with operations teams.
Qualifications
- 20 years of experience managing complex infrastructure projects across energy, utilities, or public works sectors, with a deep understanding of transmission systems, grid interconnection, and high-stakes civil execution.
- Proven track record delivering complex, multi-billion-dollar infrastructure or energy projects.
- Strong expertise in high-voltage transmission systems (HV, MV), interconnects, grid infrastructure, and substations.
- Demonstrated success leading field execution, project controls, and safety programs at a senior executive level.
- Experience managing EPC contracts and navigating multi-agency permitting, utility coordination, and ROW issues.
- Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar preferred; advanced degree a plus.
- Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and stakeholder management skills.
- Willingness to travel as needed to project sites.
Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives and a comprehensive benefits package.
Anticipated base salary range: $350,000
Actual base salary will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and market factors.
