Are you someone who takes pride in creating clean, welcoming spaces for others? As a Porter, you’ll be essential to the daily upkeep and appearance of our 180-unit community, Walnut Hill in West Haverstraw, NY. Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of the building’s common areas, contributing to a safe, well-maintained, and inviting environment for all residents and visitors.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Complete requests in a timely manner and interact with residents to ensure their needs are met.
- Clean and maintain all common areas, including front lobby, hallways, restrooms, elevators, stairways, and parking areas.
- Maintain floors, vacuum carpets and rugs, wash and wax hard surfaces, and clean tile grout.
- Wash walls, doors, and windows in shared areas.
- Replace light bulbs in common area lighting fixtures as needed.
- Ensure all trash receptacles are emptied and waste is transported to the designated disposal area.
- Monitor and restock sanitary and cleaning supplies to maintain proper inventory levels.
- Assist with light maintenance duties such as replacing air filters, minor touch-ups, and basic repairs.
- Support seasonal upkeep tasks, including snow removal and grounds maintenance.
- Assist in inventory control of janitorial tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Maintain a professional appearance and represent the community with a positive and courteous attitude.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Anticipated salary range:
- $21.00 hourly wage
- Benefits and PTO administered by Local 32BJ Union.
- This position is Non-Exempt, meaning eligible for overtime pay

- 1–2 years of janitorial, cleaning, or porter experience in residential or commercial settings.
- Basic knowledge of light maintenance tasks is a plus.
- Snow removal and landscaping experience a plus.
- Comfortable working with and around cleaning agents and equipment.
- Ability to complete daily assignments with minimal supervision.
- Strong time management skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Dedicated to exceeding expectations by providing exceptional service.
- Willingness to embrace feedback and continuously improve.
- Strong belief in the value of teamwork and collaboration.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Personal standards of appearance and dress compatible with the Company’s standards.
