What You’ll Do:
Relate Search has partnered with a global manufacturing organization in their search for a Manufacturing Applications Sr. Developer to join their IT organization and support the continued advancement of digital manufacturing capabilities. This role will serve as a key technical partner between manufacturing operations, business stakeholders, and IT teams, helping design and deliver innovative Industry 4.0 solutions that improve production performance, visibility, and operational efficiency. The successful candidate will play a critical role in developing and supporting Manufacturing Execution System (MES), SCADA, and shop floor applications within a complex global manufacturing environment. You can expect to be involved in initiatives such as advancing connected factory technologies, optimizing manufacturing data flows, integrating enterprise and shop floor systems, and driving continuous improvement through modern digital solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and support manufacturing applications that enable digital transformation initiatives across global production environments, including MES, SCADA, and Industry 4.0 solutions.
• Partner with manufacturing, business, and IT stakeholders to translate operational needs into scalable software requirements, application designs, and technology solutions.
• Develop and enhance shop floor applications supporting key manufacturing capabilities including OEE, production tracking, quality, traceability, and genealogy.
• Collaborate with internal teams, system integrators, and third-party technology providers to deliver integrated manufacturing solutions across enterprise and operational systems.
• Drive continuous improvement by leveraging emerging manufacturing technologies, data architectures, and software development best practices to optimize production performance.
Qualifications:
• 7 years of experience developing and delivering manufacturing shop floor solutions utilizing Industry 4.0 technologies, including MES, SCADA, Ignition, Unified Namespace (UNS), and MQTT.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and experience translating business requirements into software solutions supporting production, quality, and operational efficiency.
• Experience with Microsoft .NET technologies, Visual Studio, C#, C , ASP.NET, Python/Jython, Java, and modern software development methodologies.
• Experience working with manufacturing data platforms, databases, and integration technologies including Oracle, MS SQL, REST/SOAP, JSON, ERP systems, and related enterprise applications.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work independently, partner cross-functionally, and support complex manufacturing environments.
