What You’ll Do:
Relate Search has partnered with a growing pet food manufacturing organization in its search for a Maintenance Manager to join the plant leadership team. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this hands-on leader will develop the maintenance team, strengthen equipment reliability, and help integrate maintenance more closely with plant operations. The role offers the opportunity to build a more proactive preventive maintenance strategy, lead capital and reliability initiatives, and improve performance across a 24/5 manufacturing environment. This is an opportunity for a technically strong, growth-minded leader to take ownership, shape maintenance processes, and make a visible impact within the facility.
Responsibilities:
· Lead maintenance activities, systems, and reliability initiatives to support safe operations, equipment uptime, and sustainable plant performance.
· Develop and advance preventive and predictive maintenance programs, including work planning, shutdown coordination, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
· Coach and develop maintenance personnel while building a strong partnership with the Maintenance Supervisor and promoting accountability across the team.
· Provide hands-on technical leadership for mechanical, electrical, PLC, automation, and facility systems, including troubleshooting and equipment performance improvement.
· Lead small capital projects and partner with Operations, Quality, Safety, contractors, and service providers to improve reliability, efficiency, and production support.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or GED and 7 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
· 3 years of maintenance leadership or supervisory experience, including experience training and developing maintenance personnel.
· Experience with CMMS, HMI, PLCs, automation equipment, and industrial electrical and mechanical systems.
· Strong troubleshooting, maintenance planning, preventive maintenance, reliability, organizational, and communication skills.
· Food, pet food, feed, or similar production experience is preferred; candidates must be eligible to work in the United States and willing to complete a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
