What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Health Safety Specialist position at Relate Search?
Relate Search has partnered with a leading global power producer in their search for an experienced EHS Specialist to support site operations and ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations. This individual will play a key role in developing, implementing, and maintaining EHS policies, conducting audits and inspections, and promoting a culture of safety and environmental stewardship across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal EHS regulations and standards.
- Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific EHS policies, procedures, and programs.
- Conduct regular inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Lead and participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans.
- Develop and deliver EHS training for employees, contractors, and site personnel to ensure understanding and compliance.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5 years of EHS experience, ideally within the energy, manufacturing, or industrial sectors.
- Strong understanding of OSHA and environmental regulations, and experience in regulatory reporting and compliance.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills across diverse teams and departments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, travel up to 25%, and perform physical duties in an industrial environment.
