Role: Senior Estimator (Onsite only - Blue Point, NY)
You will lead estimating efforts for a GC that self-performs carpentry and PEMB. This role is hands-on, technical, and ideal for someone who can independently build complete estimates, not just collect subcontractor proposals.
What You'll Do
- Lead and prepare estimates for multiple bids
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs
- Review construction drawings and documents
- Obtain, compare, and negotiate vendor/subcontractor quotes
- Build full conceptual and detailed cost estimates
- Prepare and submit proposals within deadlines
- Develop and maintain client and subcontractor relationships
- Attend walkthroughs and support pre-construction activities
- Manage MWBE compliance and trade coverage
Must-Have Qualifications
- 10 years of construction estimating experience
- Strong GC estimating background
- Experience estimating carpentry and PEMB scopes
- Skilled in quantity take-offs and conceptual estimating
- Experience with private and public bids
- Ability to manage multiple estimates at once
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
