What You'll Do
The Retail Personal Service Provider - Inventory Specialist is a hybrid role responsible for delivering exceptional personal service to customers and patients while managing inventory operations in a Connecticut medical and adult-use cannabis retail facility. This role ensures accurate product handling, compliance with all Connecticut DCP regulations, and a high-quality customer experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Customer Service / Personal Service (Retail-Focused)
- Provide personalized guidance to patients and adult-use customers on product selection, usage, and compliance.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professional, knowledgeable, and courteous service.
- Accurately process transactions using the POS system.
- Maintain a welcoming, organized, and compliant retail environment.
- Assist with merchandising, promotions, and educational initiatives.
Inventory Responsibilities
- Receive, verify, and organize incoming product shipments.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in compliance with CT DCP regulations and company SOPs.
- Conduct cycle counts, reconciliations, and audits to prevent discrepancies.
- Ensure proper labeling, storage, and rotation of products to maintain quality.
- Report discrepancies, damaged products, or compliance issues promptly to management.
- Assist with preparation for state inspections and maintain ongoing regulatory compliance.
Additional Responsibilities
- Collaborate and support Leads and Management to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Support both medical and adult-use retail areas as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and adherence to all state and company policies.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
EducationRequirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in retail, customer service, or cannabis industry preferred.
- Familiarity with POS systems and DCP-compliant inventory software preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules as required.
- Knowledge of Connecticut cannabis regulations is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Stand and walk for prolonged periods (up to 8 hours per shift).
- Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting (up to 25 lbs regularly; occasionally up to 50 lbs with assistance).
- Manual dexterity for handling products, labeling, and operating POS equipment.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain focused and alert in a fast-paced retail environment.
Work Environment
- On-site position within a Connecticut-licensed medical cannabis dispensary facility.
- Involves working evenings, weekends, or holidays as required by operational needs.
- Exposure to standard retail and medical facility conditions, including varying temperatures and moderate noise levels.
- Must comply with all security, safety, and DCP inspection protocols.
