Position: Substitute Teacher
Reports To: Assistant Principal
Status: Part Time/Non-Exempt/Temporary (Not to exceed 115 hours per month)
Schedule: 41 Weeks (August - May)

Job Summary:
The Substitute Teacher is responsible for maintaining a Christ-centered classroom environment and ensuring students continue their learning in the absence of the regular teacher. Duties include following lesson plans, managing classroom behavior, and ensuring a safe and orderly environment.
Qualifications:
- Christian by profession and lifestyle, and a member of a local church in good standing.
- Minimum of a high school diploma.
- Basic knowledge of G Suite and Microsoft Office.
- Previous experience with children preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism.
- Flexibility in availability.
Essential Functions:
- Follow the teacher’s lesson plans and maintain the classroom environment.
- Model Christ-like behavior and promote students' spiritual growth.
- Ensure the classroom is neat, organized, and safe for students.
- Take attendance and report any concerns about student safety or well-being.
- Supervise students during transitions and ensure their safety at all times.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student, parent, and staff information.
- Participate in emergency drills and report safety concerns to the appropriate individuals.
Physical Requirements:
- This is a safety-sensitive position; employees may be required to undergo drug and alcohol testing.
- Ability to move around the classroom and supervise students.
- Must be able to lift light classroom materials and maintain student supervision during transitions.
