Job Summary:
The Seasonal Stipend Coach is responsible for instructing student-athletes in the fundamental skills, strategies, and physical conditioning necessary for individual and team success. The coach will also promote Christian values, self-discipline, and personal growth, helping students develop Christ-like character in a supportive and positive environment.
Qualifications:
Must be a committed Christian, demonstrating a Christ-centered lifestyle.
Member of a local church in good standing.
Previous experience in coaching, physical education, or interscholastic athletics.
Completion of required NFHS courses (Heat Illness, Concussion in Sports, Sudden Cardiac Arrest) annually.
State certification for coaching (or in process).
Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
Proficiency with Google Education Suite, Microsoft Office, and school software platforms.
Ability to think strategically, multitask, and lead effectively.
Essential Functions:
Administrative Leadership:
Support the achievement of goals and objectives set by school administration.
Assist in maintaining an organized, effective, and efficient athletic program.
Uphold confidentiality and professional ethics.
Keep accurate attendance and performance records for student-athletes.
Adhere to safety procedures and lead emergency safety drills as required.
Report safety concerns, health issues, and maintenance needs.
Communicate promptly when unable to fulfill duties and collaborate in resolving differences.
Coaching Leadership:
Lead and mentor student-athletes, focusing on skill development, sportsmanship, and spiritual growth.
Set attainable team goals and ensure all athletes are prepared for competition.
Oversee tryouts, team selection, and health exam form completion.
Review eligibility forms and ensure athletes meet clearance requirements.
Develop and enforce discipline standards for athletes and volunteers.
Plan emergency response strategies for injuries and medical emergencies.
Coordinate with healthcare providers to ensure athlete safety during recovery.
Organize and lead athletic award programs and assist with event logistics.
Serve as a liaison for visiting teams and officials, ensuring smooth event operations.
Oversee event scheduling, venue setup, and volunteer coordination.
Manage inventory and care for sports equipment and uniforms.
Additional Responsibilities:
Represent the school in a positive, professional manner to the community and the public.
Encourage parent involvement in prayer and volunteer activities.
Physical and Safety Requirements:
This is a safety-sensitive position; employees may be required to undergo drug and alcohol testing.
Ability to stand, walk, and move around the athletic field or gymnasium for extended periods.
Lift and move sports equipment (up to 25-30 lbs).
Ability to bend, kneel, and reach for materials or assist students.
Clear verbal communication for instruction and coordination with athletes, staff, and visitors.
Visual acuity to assess player performance and equipment during practices and events.

Attend school events such as chapel, athletic events, and assemblies when possible.
Participate in fundraising, recruitment, and other school initiatives as needed.
Flexibility to take on other duties to support the school as necessary.
