Job Description Summary Sonesta Atlanta Airport North, 1325 Virginia Avenue, Atlanta, GA is seeking an associate to interact with our guests and ensure they have a great experience when dining and meeting at the hotel. Banquet servers are responsible for positive guest interactions while serving guests in a friendly and efficient manner. At all times, servers are expected to be attentive to our guest needs and make them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed. On-call Banquet Servers must be available to work weekends and holidays. Job Description Operational/Functional Set up for events, carry trays, serve guests and clean up at the event’s conclusion. Set up can include putting out tablecloths and place settings, arranging table placement and putting up a buffet. Review Banquet Event Orders (BEO’s) at the beginning of each shift to ensure rooms are set as contracted. Prepare rooms for use; adjusting lights, sound volumes and temperature as needed before guests arrive. Be in communication with the lead catering staff regarding any special needs. Assist in ensuring that the events are on time. Make adjustments as needed and relay that information to the appropriate personnel. Pass any information that is needed to the next staff member on duty. Ensure proper use, storage and maintenance of all meeting room equipment. Ensure there is proper back up in the event that any equipment is not properly functioning. Maintaining proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses. Delivering Alcoholic and Non-alcoholic drinks for service to your customer’s table. Properly open and pour wine at the tableside. Performing basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor. Greet all guests and owners warmly with an appropriate greeting. Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently. Understands and can communicate products and services available at the hotel. Strategy and Planning Properly open and pour wine at the tableside. If no upcoming events, please have rooms in a readiness position for any possible site inspection. Keep inventory of all equipment in order and stored in their appropriate areas. Provide all group guests with a lasting experience of the hotel with intent for return business. Follow through with the proper and timely set-up and execution of banquet events. Maintain a high degree of professionalism. Maintain all equipment and facilities in an organized, clean, safe environment.
