Legal Assistant
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Legal Assistant to support attorneys and legal staff in a fast-paced legal environment. The ideal candidate will assist with document preparation, case management, client communication, scheduling, and administrative support while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, edit, proofread, and manage legal documents, correspondence, contracts, and reports
- Maintain physical and electronic case files and ensure accurate recordkeeping
- Schedule meetings, court dates, depositions, and appointments for attorneys
- Communicate with clients, courts, vendors, and outside counsel in a professional manner
- Assist with filing legal documents in state and federal courts, including e-filing when required
- Conduct basic legal research and gather case-related information
- Track deadlines and maintain attorney calendars to ensure timely completion of tasks
- Process invoices, expense reports, and other administrative documentation
- Support attorneys during trial preparation, hearings, and closings as needed
- Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred; Paralegal Certificate is a plus
- 2 years of experience in a legal assistant, administrative assistant, or law office support role preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat
- Experience with legal management software and e-filing systems is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting litigation, corporate, real estate, insurance defense, personal injury, or family law practices
- Familiarity with court procedures, legal terminology, and document management systems
Salary : $25 - $35
