Reinhardt University is currently accepting applications for a Student Financial Aid Coordinator in the Student Financial Aid Office.
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for being the front line of customer service for the Office of Student Financial Aid. Duties include answering incoming Student Financial Aid and Business Office calls & emails, assisting current and prospective students, organizing and filing Financial Aid documents, performing tasks needed for the operation of the office, assisting with the Work Study program, and advising how to make payments and provide student account balance information.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but would consider work experience in lieu of degree
- 1-3 years of related work experience
- Excel experience required
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organization skills
Desired Qualifications Include:
- 1-3 years’ experience in a higher education financial aid environment
- Hands-on experience with PowerFaids/Jenzabar.
Primary Responsibilities/Essential Job Functions:
The candidate will be responsible for maintaining student files, processing aid paperwork, responding to Financial Aid and Business Office email and voicemail, and communicating with students and parents in a timely manner.
Additional Responsibilities:
- As appropriate, this position may be required to perform other functions associated with the day-to-day operations or events of the University as assigned by their supervisor.
- Establish and maintain contacts, processes and procedures with the appropriate departments. (i.e., Business Office, Registrar, Residential Life, Athletics, Faculty and Admissions)
The Student Financial Aid Coordinator is an integral component to the success of a student’s college career. Therefore, attendance for this position is generally required at 37.5 hours per week, during normal business hours in person, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. As required by seasonal workload, this position may occasionally work overtime.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and a clear and effective customer service approach.
- Demonstrated computer proficiency, especially in the use of excel, and ability to learn new software
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize work assignments
- Ability to work hours and events as required
- Protection of confidentiality of student’s information
Work Environment/Physical Requirements of the Job:
This position is an in person office environment. The candidate must have the ability to walk between buildings on campus, occasionally lift up to twenty pounds, and be able to work sitting down for long periods of time.
