Role Description
The Sheet Metal Handler – CNC Laser Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Dallas, TX. This position supports our CNC Laser Operator by loading and unloading sheet metal, staging materials, and ensuring accurate identification and handling of parts. The role also involves maintaining a clean and safe work area, following established safety protocols, and collaborating with machine operators, supervisors, and team members to meet production schedules and customer deadlines.
Job Duties
- Safely move sheet metal and finished products from one location to another in a warehouse setting
- Ensure sheet metal and inventory parts are properly stored and accurately counted
- Pick and pull sheet metal per required job specifications and distribute sheet metal to appropriate workstation
- Read work orders, pick lists, and other documents to determine material or inventory parts to be moved, gathered, distributed, and/or shipped
- Assist in receiving and inspection of delivered materials and report any damage or discrepancies
- Assist CNC Laser Operator with loading and unloading sheet metal on laser shuttles
- Assist with other production duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Forklift experience and/or certification preferred
- Ability to learn and use ERP system required
- Experience handling sheet metal or similar materials in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Strong attention to detail for sheet metal identification, measurements, and visual inspection
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods of time
- Familiarity with assembly and metal fabrication a plus
Compensation
- Pay starting at $17-18 per hour with possibility of pay increase after 90 day probationary period
- PTO and paid holidays after 90 days
