Service Repair Technician Job Duties

Job requirements:

· Proficient using multimeters to determine electrical voltage, current, resistance, etc..

· Work with 120 and 240v equipment as well as 6, 12-, 24-, 36-, and 48-volt systems.

· Strong mechanical and electrical repair abilities.

· Excellent general knowledge of how electric commerce machines operate and ability to troubleshoot and repair the machine.

· 5 years of repair technician experience required.

· Ability to speak with and quote customers’ costs of repairs, give recommendations.

· Must be presentable – no smoking or use of tobacco while clocked in for work. Pants and collered shirt required.

· Pre-employment drug screen and background check required.

· Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

· Some off-site work required in company supplied vehicle.

Job duties and responsibilities:

· repair vacuum cleaners: residential and commercial upright, canister, robotic, etc.

· repair floor sweepers and vacuum sweepers: walk behind, ride-on, and stand-on.

· repair floor auto scrubbers: walk behind, ride-on, and stand-on; cylindrical, disk, and oscillating.

· repair carpet extractors: residential and commercial; walk behind, pull type, stand-on and ride-on, other related carpet extraction equipment like wands and hoses.

· repair pressure washers and related equipment.

· repair other miscellaneous cleaning equipment: CR2, Kaivac, floor dryers, ozone machines, small scrubbing machines, etc.

· provide technical support for equipment purchased from RPC(Reinert Paper & Chemical) via phone or email, this can include equipment not purchased from RPC for good, long-term customers.

· provide estimates for repair via phone or email to customers. Requires some negotiation skills as well as the ability to take pushbacks from customers due to cost of repairs.

· keep repair shop area clean and organized. This includes inside and outside office, as well as equipment showroom.

· Maintain rental equipment. Clean and inspect following rental returns. Repair and clean as needed.

· maintain new equipment on showroom floor. This includes charging equipment on a bi-monthly basis as well as keeping it clean and functional as needed. Any equipment sold should be tested at the time it is assembled and placed on showroom floor to ensure it is functional.

· facility maintenance and repair: make miscellaneous repairs to RPC facility and equipment including fixing doors, roll-up doors, electric pallet jacks, forklifts, vehicles, plumbing, electrical, light fixtures, etc. This includes watering basic repair of pallet jacks, forklifts, etc. Regular watering of RPC battery powered equipment.

· Basic delivery vehicle maintenance and repair: keep logs and maintain 26’ box trucks, keep logs and ensure oil is being changed and all regular PM procedures are completed.

· maintain and repair commercial dish machines at customer site using a set predetermined schedule. Ensure chemical pumps are functioning properly and chemicals are dosed correctly for water conditions, temperature, and soil level. Make emergency repairs at customer sites as need M-F 8am to 5pm.

· maintain and repair chemical pumps for commercial laundry machines. Ensure chemical pumps are functioning properly and chemicals are dosed correctly for water conditions, temperature, and soil levels.

· parts ordering for repairs: order parts for warranty and repairs as well as customer orders from the appropriate vendor.

· Look up parts and provide pricing for RPC sales staff sales so they can quote their customers as needed.

· Interact and communicate directly with customers and explain what is wrong with their equipment. Provide estimates for repair.

· miscellaneous other repair and maintenance duties as requested by management.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
