Housing Specialist (Full-Time)
A High School diploma or equivalent and a valid New York State driver's license are required.
This is a full-time position requiring a 40-hour work week. Regular hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with some scheduling flexibility.
The Housing Specialist provides support services to help adults obtain and maintain safe, stable and affordable housing. Key responsibilities include:
- Meeting in person with program participants monthly.
- Collaborating with landlords and community partners.
- Assisting participants with apartment searches throughout Schenectady County.
- Maintaining accurate documentation and completing required reports.
- Managing multiple ongoing tasks while providing quality support services.
- Participating in periodic on-call coverage as required.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, has strong written and verbal communication skills and is able to effectively manage multiple responsibilities. Experience working with individuals living with mental illness is preferred but not required.
