Rehabilitation Support Services, Inc. is a not-for-profit Agency based in Altamont, NY that operates programs in 17 counties in NYS. We are seeking a service-oriented and self-motivated professional to join our Administrative team as the Director of Training & Staff Development. This position is responsible for coordinating, developing, and delivering all training activities across the Agency. This includes onboarding, ongoing staff development, management training, and specialized instruction in response to incidents or emerging needs. The trainer will oversee the agency's online learning platform (Relias), manage scheduling logistics, and lead training on the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, including maintaining its training database. The role also involves close collaboration with Compliance, Human Resources, and the Director of Quality to ensure training content reflects current standards, policies, and organizational goals.
Hours and Benefits:

Salary:
· $85,000 to $95,000 Annually
Requirements for the Director, Training & Staff Development:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Education, or related field (Master's preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in training, staff development, or instructional design, preferably in a behavioral health setting.
- Proficiency in Relias or similar LMS platforms.
- Experience with EHR systems and training delivery.
- Strong organizational, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care, recovery-oriented practices, and person-centered approaches.
- Experience responding to training needs based on incident trends or compliance audits.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design.
Responsibilities for the Director, Training & Staff Development include:
Training Coordination & Delivery:
- Design and implement onboarding programs for new hires across all program types and divisions.
- Develop and facilitate ongoing training for all staff.
- Create and deliver management development modules tailored to supervisory roles.
- Respond to agency-wide incidents or trends by designing targeted training interventions.
Cross Department Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Compliance Department to ensure training content reflects current regulatory and policy requirements.
- Partner with Human Resources to update training materials related to employee development, onboarding, and performance standards.
- Collaborate with the Director of Quality to align training initiatives with agency-wide quality improvement goals.
Relias Learning Management System:
- Administer and maintain the Relias platform, including user setup, course assignment, tracking, and reporting.
- Regularly update training content to reflect policy changes, regulatory updates, and internal feedback.
EHR Training & Database Oversight:
- Lead training sessions on the agency's EHR system for new and existing staff.
- Maintain the EHR training database, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
- Serve as the point of contact for EHR training-related inquiries and troubleshooting.
- Develop and implement new programs within the HER by updating applicable forms and permission management.
Scheduling & Logistics:
- Coordinate training calendars, room bookings, and virtual session logistics. A focus will be primarily on in-person training availability.
- Communicate training schedules and expectations to staff and supervisors.
- Track attendance and completion rates, generating reports for leadership.
