Rehabilitation Support Services, Inc. is seeking a parttime Housing Specialist at Elmwood Community Residence for transition age youth 16-20 years 11 months with significant mental health concerns qualifying for SED (Serious Emotional Disturbance).
Working with youth in a residential setting is a fun, high energy, fast paced dynamic that provides many rewarding experiences and the opportunity to foster positive growth and change in the lives of others.
Housing specialist job duties would include: exploring and assisting youth in applying for appropriate housing programs and/or benefits, developing working knowledge of the children and adult systems related to independent living options, working with social service agencies to coordinate care, and working with youth on plans around the next independent level of care. The housing specialist would also be providing crisis intervention services (as a member of the team) and providing some on-call services.
Qualified candidates must have at least a high school diploma and at least 1 year experience in human services, preferred candidates having experience working in connection and coordination of housing.
Completion of background check and clearance by the NYS Child Abuse & Maltreatment registry is required.
Hours: 20 hours per week 10am-6pm (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday)
