Duties
- Perform a variety of massage techniques including Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point therapy, sports massage, prenatal massage, and medical massage tailored to client needs
- Conduct patient assessments to determine appropriate treatment plans and identify areas of pain or tension
- Educate clients on self-care practices and recommend suitable therapies for ongoing wellness
- Maintain detailed records of treatments provided, client progress, and any relevant medical information using proper medical terminology
- Ensure a safe and hygienic environment by adhering to sanitation standards and CPR protocols
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their concerns, explain procedures, and ensure comfort throughout sessions
- Stay current with industry trends, new techniques, and occupational health practices to continually enhance service quality
Skills
- Exceptional patient service skills with a focus on customer satisfaction and client communication
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and pain management principles relevant to massage therapy
- Proficiency in various massage modalities including Swedish massage, deep tissue therapy, trigger point therapy, sports massage, prenatal massage, and occupational health treatments
- Ability to perform thorough patient assessments and develop personalized treatment plans
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to musculoskeletal health and pain management
- Certification in CPR and first aid required; additional certifications in med spa or occupational health settings preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with clients empathetically and professionally
