Job Description: As a School-Based Occupational Therapist or Physical Therapist, you will work with students in various educational settings to assess, plan, and implement individualized therapy programs. Your role will involve collaborating with educators, parents, and other professionals to ensure students receive the support they need to succeed in their educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate students' motor skills, physical development, and functional abilities.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and goals.
- Provide direct physical therapy services to students as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Monitor and document student progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school personnel to integrate physical therapy goals into the classroom environment.
- Conduct screenings and consultations to identify students in need of physical therapy services.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of comprehensive education plans.
- Provide training and support to school staff and families on techniques to assist students with physical challenges.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including documentation and reporting requirements.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- Valid state Therapy license.
- Experience in a school-based setting or with pediatric populations preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of special education regulations and the IEP process.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred.

Pay: $ $49.40 per hour
