Position Summary
The Food and Beverage Manager supports both Lucky H and The Coffee Shop in all aspects of daily operations in fast-paced, high-volume Food & Beverage Department. This role is hands-on and highly visible, requiring a leader who thrives under pressure, delivers exceptional guest experiences, and develops a strong team.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Oversee daily opening and closing procedures, ensuring the coffee shop is always guest-ready
- Passion for training and developing front of house team members
- Monitor workflow, speed of service, and quality standards during peak volume periods
- Manage cash handling, POS systems, daily sales reporting, and end-of-day reconciliation
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and food handling regulations
- Maintain equipment, coordinate repairs, and manage vendor relationships
Team Leadership
- Assist in recruiting, onboarding, training, and scheduling of staff
- Coach hosts and waitstaff on GALA service standards, product knowledge, and efficiency
- Conduct performance check-ins and contribute to employee reviews
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-energy team culture
- Manage conflict resolution, have crucial conversations, and corrective actions as needed
- Lead by example and uphold company standards
Guest Experience
- Lead by example on the floor, modeling exceptional hospitality standards
- Handle guest complaints and service recovery with professionalism and urgency
- Ensure consistency in product quality, presentation, and delivery times
Inventory & Cost Control
- Assist with ordering, receiving, and managing food, beverage, and supply inventory
- Monitor waste, track par levels, and support labor and COGS targets
- Help prepare weekly/monthly operational reports for Restaurant Manager to review
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in food & beverage management, preferably in a high-volume café, coffee shop, or quick-service concept
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of Service standards, guest satisfaction and employee retention
- Proficiency with POS systems and scheduling software (e.g., 7shifts,)
- Serv-Safe Manager Certification (required or willingness to obtain)
- Excellent communication, (written and verbal) problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Flexible availability including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 30–50 pounds as required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including professional email correspondence, report writing, and effective communication with managers and team members
- Possesses strong business acumen to understand business flow, execution and obtain profitability
