The School of Health Sciences, Department of Medical Imaging, is seeking applicants for a full-time Assistant Professor and Program Director in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program. The new position will include oversight of the Vascular Program, as well as development of vascular sonography courses specific to the new program. Candidates must possess the ability to teach classes and/or labs in various courses depending on program needs, but with specialization in vascular sonography. Responsibilities include instruction, evaluation, supervision, assessment and academic advisement of students at the undergraduate level. The program director will be responsible for programmatic review and accreditation as required by the university, CAAHEP and JRCDMS.

Essential Job Functions
- Oversee the diagnostic medical sonography vascular program and all functions associated with the program, including programmatic accreditation.
- Maintain a teaching workload in accordance with the faculty handbook.
- Assist admissions department with recruitment.
- Conduct online and in-person information sessions, attend student recruitment events, and conduct student interviews.
- Advise students regarding curriculum, progression, and clinical education.
- Conduct program, course, and faculty assessments in accordance with the accreditation requirements and the college.
- Establish, implement, and oversee all aspects of the DMS Vascular Concentration curriculum.
- Collaborate with the program faculty in the planning, development, and evaluation of DMS didactic, laboratory and clinical education.
- Obtain, coordinate, and maintain affiliation and communication with clinical sites.
- Evaluate and ensure the effectiveness of clinical education.
- Utilize Trajecsys for tracking all clinical records.
- Ensure students are on track to meet all graduation requirements.
- Establish a positive learning environment to ensure student educational success
- Assist with additional duties/requirements as needed to ensure a successful program.
- Participate in all activities related to the college, school, and department.
- Responsibilities associated with a full-time faculty appointment including teaching and scholarship and service to the institution.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
- RVT or RVS certification required with specific experience in Vascular Sonography.
- Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum of three years of full-time clinical experience in sonography.
- Experience in course development and accreditation writing preferred
- Evidence of prior teaching experience or clinical supervision of interns preferred

- Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty and clinical supervisors
- Ability to collaborate with other faculty
- Ability to utilize technology necessary for teaching including but not limited to: Office 365, Moodle, library and other online resources.
- Ability to stand up to 8 hours per day; move and operate ultrasound equipment including lifting, pulling, bending and squatting.
- May use computer keyboards and ultrasound machines requiring eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity for extended periods of time.
- Requires travel within Boston and surrounding area.
